Third Annual Friendship Dinner Print E-mail

  IDI Calgary held its 3rd Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner at the Radisson Hotel Calgary on January 27th, 2012 with the participation of some 120 distinguished guests. This year’s theme was “United through Diversity: An Inspiration for Albertans”.
It was a night to remember with two keynote speeches by Dr. Rahat Naqvi, Professor of Education at University of Calgary and Dr. Earle Waugh, Professor Emeritus of Divinity at University of Alberta.

The work of IDI was honoured by the messages from:

·        The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism on behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper

·        The Mayor of Calgary Naheed K. Nenshi.

Emine Gurbuzer, Director of the Woman Branch at IDI Calgary started the event with her inspiring opening speech.

We would like to announce that we became a member of Intercultural Dialogue Institute of Canada and embraced the name Intercultural Dialogue Institute Calgary.

IDI Calgary will not only continue holding the events of Burc Intercultural Centre, but also increase the number of events to promote multiculturalism and dialogue in Calgary.
